Handmade stoneware side / salad plates with my soft white glaze called Cloud. The unglazed rims and base provide a simple and rustic contrast between the smoothness of the surface and the texture of the buff stoneware clay.
Tableware created for everyday use, cosy suppers and sharing meals with friends. They make a wonderful wedding present or gift for a food loving friend.

Handmade ceramics process
The side / salad plates are made thrown by hand on the wheel. The bases are trimmed and left flat.
Once the plates are bone dry are fired in the kiln to 1000 degrees (the bisque fire) which dries and strengthens them sufficiently for it to be glazed. They are dip glazed in a soft white glaze before I fire them again to 1250 degrees.
Each side plate is individually crafted so no two are exactly alike and each much takes approximately 3 weeks to make from start to finish, including making, drying, bisque firing, glazing and final high firing.
